One removes what doesn't belong.
The other adds what wasn't there.
Yet somewhere along the way, we decided one was a household object and the other belonged to creativity.
WTF Edit questions that decision.
Most objects aren't born with meaning. We give it to them. A piece of stone becomes a sculpture. A piece of cloth becomes a flag. A brush becomes art when we decide its movement deserves to be called painting.
Perhaps creativity has always worked this way, not by inventing something completely new, but by escaping the meaning we've inherited.
Change the consciousness, and the ordinary becomes unfamiliar again.
